For example you’ll learn how factories make bread dough jewelry that can be fashioned into high school and college mascots and purchased for pennies apiece (to be sold for dollars abroad). You see how the only native American owned mill produces coats, shirts, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves in school colors of your choice (at really low prices). #3: How 100 years of global economics can enhance your investments and business now. Learn how history reveals currency distortions that create safer bond opportunities to borrow low and deposit high. These diverse portfolios have all been both be profitable, but at times also dropped quickly. At the course we will look at how and why and what investors can do to gain from this type of investing. We review how the portfolios performed during the current crisis.

#4: We’ll look at emerging stock markets and emerging bond markets as well. 2007 was the seventh consecutive calendar year in which international investments in emerging markets outperformed developed markets. In 2007 the MSCI overall Emerging Markets benchmark was up 23.8 % in US dollars compared to the MSCI World Total Return Index being down 0.08 % in US dollars.

2008 has been a terrible year for investing but we reveal excellent, very safe bond portfolios that have emerged and pay 50%, 100% and even triple the going rate for US bonds yet they are guaranteed by four and five governments.

You’ll learn why in 2007, high equity returns were recorded in Peru with a triple digit percentage gain (+103.8 %), Turkey (+64.5 %) and Brazil (+58.6 %) and why these may not be the top 2008 markets. Then we’ll update 2008 and what’s happening in 2009 and what could happen through 2012!

One great thing about Ecuador is the access to so much really inexpensive, fresh and organic food. Here is the local market next to our hotel El Meson.

#5: One session will especially focus on alternate energy and water. For example we’ll see why Hyflux (water cleaning membranes mainly in China ) rose from $1.50 to $5 in less than a year. We’ll look at Vestas (windmills) shares (up from $50 to $106). Plus there will be an in depth review of bio diesel that becomes profitable at $30 (Brazilian) and $48 ( U.S. ) per barrel oil prices. You’ll see our Green portfolio which invests in environmental firms and how it was up 236.47% in seven months! Plus how it dropped in 2008..more importantly why and what opportunity the drop creates.

We’ll look at two shares, Vestas (wind energy) and Q-Cells Ag (solar energy) that are in our portfolios and more than doubled in 2007….plus where they are now.

This course goes far beyond just investing in stocks, bonds and currencies. Other sessions cover how to have your own small “run from anywhere” global publishing business. Merri and I teach what we do. Here we are publishing from our hotel in Cotacachi Ecuador.

But we spend a lot of time at our beach apartment on Ecuador’s Pacific too. Yet here I am in our clubhouse dining room overlooking the sun and sea and still in business.
